In Australia, the security and OHS requirements of each port location have been amalgamated into the Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) system, which operates across all port facilities in Australia.
1-Stop Connections, a joint venture between leading Australian Stevedores P&O Ports (now DP World) and Patricks was engaged to implement the MSIC program for the stevedores. 1-Stop’s mission was to provide a single point to complete the application to MSIC membership and the access inductions for all stakeholders
1-Stop was truly ambitious in the breadth of its system. Not only does it deliver and assess training, but it interfaces automatically to secure entry systems to ensure entry to a port is granted only after the requisite training is complete. It even incorporates special measures to support the integrity of examinations done remotely. Despite this, It has to work flawlessly for workers with low levels of literacy and non-existent computer skills.
GVM advised, created and implemented all of the training elements involved in this huge process, underpinned by multiple systems. We implemented and customised an LMS specifically designed for this specialised application. The result was a system that went on to win the Australian Institute of Training and Development’s business strategy award.
Global Vision Media developed Australia’s foremost educational web site for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, in the process creating a profitable spin-off business for the College. We created every aspect of the site from the brand and logo through to the courseware and deployed the learning management system to serve and commercialise it. Today, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners provides online vocational and CPD training to Australia’s 20,000 general practitioners and is looking to expand internationally. Global Vision Media regularly develops new courseware for the RACGP’s site and has remained its preferred supplier for over three years.
